I want to take some computer course. Is there a website giving free course? Or free teaching materials? I know there is no free lunch. But we can get a lot of knowledge and useful information from internet. Why not computer science? The thing is how systematical the web information can be. Thank you very much.

I already have a good job as a lead programmer, despite the fact that I don’t have a degree. But from what I’ve seen, having the piece of paper will open doors for me down the line in my career. An online program seems like a good idea, but everything I read about them from people who use them is negative. University of Phoenix seems to get especially bad reviews. I’m looking for something that is reputable, fast paced, and transferable if i want to go to a regular 4 year. Does this exist or are all of these online schools a scam.

Especially looking at what are the cost effective grad school programs- I only get $5k/yr reimbursement, would like to take 4 classes year, or 12 credit hours, so ~$400-500/credit hour would be great. Live in TN.

I am familiar with the various programs covered in BCIS. What is computer Science? What does it cover? The college calls this class Microcomputer Applications. I am looking for ease, if computer science is easy, I will take it; otherwise, it will be BCIS.
